10 Tallinn restaurants worth trying in 2026

Ten places that could not be more different from each other, from a rooftop in the Old Town to the kitchens quietly rewriting how this city eats.

Last updated July 2026

So where should you actually eat?

Tallinn cooks with its seasons, and you can taste it. Rye, cultured dairy, mushrooms, berries, root vegetables and Baltic fish are all close at hand, and the cooks we keep going back to take those same ingredients somewhere new with modern European technique, plus a good amount of Turkish, Slavic and Asian influence.

The other thing worth knowing: a lot of the best food isn’t in the medieval Old Town at all. Old factories in Telliskivi, the shipyard at Noblessner and the industrial edge of Kopli have filled up with restaurants, bakeries and wine bars. Add a couple of Old Town regulars and the seaside dining rooms out in Pirita, and this list turns into a little tour of the city as much as a list of places to eat.

Nirvana Resto & Bar

01Old TownFeatured Springlink partner

Open for: Lunch and dinner · Check current hours

Price range: €€

Nirvana is the kind of Turkish place where you order too much and regret nothing: meze to start, pide, charcoal-style grills, then Turkish coffee with baklava or künefe. All of it right in the middle of the Old Town.

The dining room downstairs is warm and colourful, but the real prize is the rooftop terrace, where you end up more or less eye level with the church spires and red-tiled roofs.

One tip before you go: join Nirvana Resto & Bar’s loyalty program before you order and you’ll get 10% off.

Best for: Turkish comfort food, a table covered in shared plates, and one of the loveliest rooftop views in the Old Town.

180° by Matthias Diether

02Noblessner

Open for: Dinner · Wednesday to Saturday

Price range: €€€€

If you’re celebrating something big, this is the one. Matthias Diether’s two-MICHELIN-starred restaurant turns dinner by the harbour into an evening that’s choreographed down to the last detail.

The open U-shaped kitchen is where the name comes from, and if you book a seat at the counter you get to watch every precise, slightly showstopping course come together in front of you.

Best for: A milestone dinner, a long tasting menu, and a front-row seat to a world-class kitchen.

NOA Chef's Hall

03Pirita

Open for: Dinner · Wednesday to Saturday

Price range: €€€€

NOA Chef’s Hall is tiny, MICHELIN-starred, and built around an open-fire kitchen. There are only a handful of tables, and the long creative menu changes as the chefs feel like it.

The evening starts with a drink in the lounge by the water and then unwinds slowly, with Tallinn Bay spread out in front of you. Half the pleasure here is simply where you’re sitting.

Best for: A proper occasion: a chef-led tasting menu, sea air, and the city glittering across the bay.

Lee Brasserie

04Old Town

Open for: Dinner · Tuesday to Saturday

Price range: €€

Lee is that rare Old Town restaurant that feels grown-up without being the least bit stiff: proper classic technique, modern flavours, and a gentle Asian thread running through the menu.

Nearly everything is built to be shared, so either put together your own spread or hand the decision over and let the kitchen walk you through the longer Lee Experience.

Best for: An easy, unhurried dinner, sharing plates done properly, and a quiet courtyard tucked beside the city walls.

Lore Bistroo

05Noblessner

Open for: Lunch and dinner · Daily

Price range: €€

Lore sits inside an old submarine factory down at Noblessner harbour, and it has a MICHELIN Bib Gourmand for exactly the reason you’d hope: good cooking at a price that doesn’t sting.

The dishes borrow happily from all over and are meant to be passed around, and the big industrial room stays genuinely relaxed. Nobody here minds a three-hour lunch or a table full of kids.

Best for: Groups, family meals, and slowly working through a lot of sharing plates by the harbour.

Fotografiska Restaurant

06Telliskivi

Open for: Lunch and dinner · Seasonal hours

Price range: €€

Up on top of Fotografiska, sustainability is treated as the fun part rather than a set of rules: local produce, the whole ingredient used up, and dishes that are far more interesting for it.

Between the seasonal plates made for sharing, the open kitchen and the big rooftop view, dinner ends up feeling like the last room of the exhibition downstairs.

Best for: Veg-forward cooking, clever no-waste ideas, and sunset over the Telliskivi rooftops.

F-Hoone

07Telliskivi

Open for: Breakfast, lunch and dinner · Daily

Price range:

F-Hoone has been the heart of Telliskivi Creative City for years now: an old factory hall with tall windows, very high ceilings, and absolutely no interest in rushing you.

The menu runs all day and the doors stay open late, so it works just as well for eggs on a Tuesday morning as it does for dinner that quietly turns into drinks.

Best for: The easy, unfussy spot to meet someone at pretty much any hour of the day.

Rado

08Old Town

Open for: Lunch and dinner · Monday to Saturday

Price range: €€

Rado is small, personal, and run by people who clearly care. The menu lives on a blackboard and changes with the market and the season, so no two visits look quite the same.

Familiar ingredients turn up in confident, contemporary combinations. Sit on the busy ground floor if you want the buzz, or head down to the calmer cellar room if you don’t.

Best for: Spur-of-the-moment dinners, honest seasonal cooking, and letting the day’s menu decide for you.

Barbarea

09Kopli

Open for: Dinner · Check current hours

Price range: €€

Barbarea lives in the old Põhjala factory out in Kopli, in a room that spends its mornings as the Karjase Sai bakery before turning into a restaurant for the evening.

Which explains the bread, which is superb. Add plenty of fermentation and vegetable-led plates and you get a genuinely exciting dinner in a space that still feels wonderfully casual.

Best for: A trip out to Kopli for natural wine, very good bread, and a bakery that becomes a bistro after dark.

Moon

10Telliskivi

Open for: Lunch and dinner · Daily

Price range: €€

Moon has been cooking modern Slavic food in Tallinn for years, and it has carried all of that with it to a new home in Telliskivi Creative City: Nordic calm, deeply comforting flavours.

Expect honest seasonal ingredients next to the signatures people keep coming back for: borscht, handmade Siberian dumplings, and fish and meat that has obviously been chosen with care.

Best for: Warm, unhurried service, modern Slavic classics, and a dinner with friends you don’t have to overthink.
